Is the Capital Punishment Appropriate for Humanity?

Capital Punishment or usually people known as death penalty is an execution for people who did savage crimes. Capital Punishment is always become hot issue when perpetrator(s) is going to be punish by a court. Could their apology appeal granted? or the execution must not be stop? In Indonesia, the criminal could apply their clemency to the President. If President reject the criminals appeal, they could sue another amnesty to the court of law (Mahkamah Agung). Even though they have their right and chances to be free of capital punishment,almost most of them rejected both by President and Court of Law. What about the other countries? Among countries all over the world, almost all European, many Asia Pacific states (including: Australia, New Zealand, Timor Leste), Latin America (except Brazilia) and Canada have abolished this capital punishment also the latest country which abolish Capital Punishment is Gabon. In fact, South Africa is one of the most developing country also abolish Capital Punishment. As the result, there are many crimes of violation and rape over there. Is it means that Capital Punishment very helpful to decrease the crimes? However, no one of religions is allow people to kill another people including Capital Punishment. In Conclusion, even though perhaps Capital Punishment could decrease the crimes, it stills not appropriate for humanity because all the religions is prohibited their followers to kill each others.

Scoliosis

Scoliosis is a spinal condition, which affects many people in today’s world. It is a physical condition where the spine is laterally bent to form an “S” or a “C” curve. If the condition is minor (with degree of curvature less than 40), then it is quite harmless and unnoticeable. However, in some severe cases (with degree of curvature above 40), it starts to get uncomfortable, painful and even very noticeable. The shoulders will appear uneven and one hip may seem more protruding than the other. If diagnosed earlier on, minor curvatures can easily be treated through exercise, therapy and sometimes with the help a brace. The process of correction may take a few years but it is quite painless and easy. On the other hand, if it is diagnosed when it is already at a more severe stage, the only option available to rectify it is through a spinal fusion surgery. In this surgery, metal rods are inserted and fused to the bones to hold the spine straight and in place. Although there is an option to have them removed after a few years, most patients prefer to just leave the rods inside forever. Although there is only a one percent risk involved, the surgery is quite a major one and a lot of care needs to be taken after the surgery. One year later, the patient can resume all activities as per normal. If not treated immediately, the curve will keep worsening and may cause major problems during childbirth and pregnancy (for women) or when at an older age (for everyone in geneal). Although very rarely diagnosed, around two in every hundred people have minor scoliosis, most of which are teenage girls. Research has been going on for decades, but the cause of this condition still remains unknown.

Jazz

Jazz in an American musical art form wich originated around the beginning of the 20th century in African American communities in the Southern United States from a confluence of African and European music traditions. Jazz is my favourite music, I like to listen to this kind of music wherever and whenever i am. Nevertheless, nowadays people in Indonesia has a wrong understanding about jazz. They thought some of pop music is Jazz. Usually jazz riched with harmonies and melodies. Improvisation is the key to make this music come alive. Louis Armstrong, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, Charlie Parker are the great musicians according to me. They show us the real jazz to us. I like to go to eastern promise at kemang, they have a Wednesday Jazz Night every week. There are many good players there, they play jazz together in a band. They jamz like crazy every wednesday night. If you want to be a jazz lover, you have to watch it live!

Cabaret Show

Cabaret is a mix of entertainment, such as comedy, song, dance, and theater, this show is usually perform in the restaurants or nightclubs where the audiences are sitting at tables with their dining and drinks. Cabaret is also regularly perform about political satire and light entertainment for the audience, as a result, this performance was unique, funny, and interesting, especially for the adults. Furthermore, "Cabaret" is also a title of the movie that made in 1972, played by Liza Minelli, Michael York, Helmut Griem, and many more. This movie was set on 1930s in Berlin, where political unrest racks the country, the economy was destroyed, and millions of unemployed people. In this case, many people join the cabaret show in the "Kit-Kat Club" where they perform on the stage. On the other hand, Indonesia also had their cabaret show that shows on Metro TV channel, every Friday night in 22.00 o'clock. I admitted that this kind of show was very interesting and also funny; all the characters had an excellent act and expression to deliver their metaphor and satire towards the political issue in Indonesia.

Handout Chp. 9

Inside the handout chapter 9, it discuss about argumentative essay. This kind of essay is a type of writing which you agree or disagree with an issue and use reasons to support your own opinion. Another function of this essay is to convince your reader that your opinion is true; therefore we must stand on an issue, support it with strong reasons, and support the reasons with strong evidence. Furthermore, we have to find many outside sources to make the argumentative essay become more powerful. In my opinion, this essay is really functional to deliver disagreement to someone or other organization. But sometimes this critical essay is not a good writing for the public, it could hurt someone's feeling and it also could conduct conflicts and war between one or more parties.

Country Music

Country music is simple style of folk music that heard mostly in Southern United State, it has different mix from the new music to the old music, thus it sounds new with the simple and slow melodies. This kind of music was usually played with stringed instruments, such as guitar, violin, banjo, and many more. The lyrics of the music itself, regularly describe about love, fun things and sometimes concern with nature's view. That is why most of the old folks love this country music, but there were just several young people who love this song, including myself. Actually, country music was really fun for the people who like it, the music has fine lyrics with slow melodies, thus it was easy and enjoyable to sing the song, it could be use as dancing music for the couples, and it is also romantic to sing this music to the person who we’d really love.

Ouija Board or "Jelangkung"

An ouija board can be constructed in the following way.
First place a piece of paper on which is written the alphabet on a table. Then prepare a small plate that is made of porcelain, gold, silver, or bronze. Mark an arrow on it. When this kind of psychic experiment is carried out by three people, each person has to place a hand lightly on the rim of the plate. Together they chant silently and reverently, "Spirit, please come forward to give us guidance." The hands only lightly touch the rim of the plate and do not exert any force. After a while the plate will start to spin and move automatically back and forth across the paper. This is an extremely accurate method when used to find out about past events. When this psychic experiment is carried out by a single person, a coin may be used instead. (If an ancient Chinese coin is used, a missing corner can be used to represent the head of an arrow.) Following this principle, objects such as desks, chairs, pencils, and chopsticks also can be used for the attachment of the spirits. Sounds like a joke of magic, but here in Indonesia we also has one similar like this called "Jelangkung". However, from my own experience which has been accumulated over a long period of time, several conditions must first be met.

Mandarin Exam

Today, 22-07-08 I got mandarin exam in my tuition place. At the first, i planned to study immediately after i get home and get some sleep for a while. My plan was to wake up at four o'clock and study. However, i was to tired and i couldn't woke up at four o'clock. I woke up at four thirty.
I was quite shocked and rushing to take my book and study. I was studying until six o'clock and then i went to take a bath. After that i got my dinner and went to my tuition place. Over there some of my friends already came earlier than me and some of them didn't come to take the exam. I didn't know why they were not coming, maybe they were scared to see the question and decided to not come.
I taught the questions would be quite hard for me. Because I was studying last minute before the exam and according to my experienced it'll be hard for me. One by one my friends left the room and only four people left inside the examination room. Until the end i was the first one to submit to my teacher from the other three people. The teacher marked it immediately and returned the paper to me.
I was quite happy because I get 80. Not only that but I was happy because the other three people ask me some of the answers and the answers were correct.

They never be ashamed to conference in public or even when they go shopping. Yeagh... Sounds strange for Indonesian people, beacuse Indonesia has different custom and law with Japan. In Conclusion, decide in yourself which one do you prefer?? Be an Indonesian or Japanese??

Whisper

I'll tell you one of my newest ghost experience. This happened on the 20th of July 2008 which was yesterday. I went to Bogor with my girlfriend and her friend. I went to a place named SKI, there we can find a fishing valley, flying fox area, go kart area and a Factory Outlet for people to shop. When I am going to home from that place, there was one place that take my attention. I did not know anything about this place before and i found out that I was walking to a place like a small lake and there was no people at all and all I can see is the lake surrounded by the palm tree. I took several steps forward and suddenly I heard a voice right in my ear, I could not understand the voice, all I know was my girlfriend and her friend did not hear the voice I heard. First, I ignored the voice, and I continued to step forward near the lake. As I reach the lake, I heard again that voice clearly and It said, "Don't go there." I thought that It was my imagination or something, but when I wanted to step forward a little bit more, I could not walk forward, and I heard a girl's scream. I did not know who was screaming and I did not find people there. It was very scary but I realized that the voice helped me from something bad there. I don't know if I should thank that voice or not, all I know is ghosts are not always bad, some of them may help us from anything bad.

In the year of 2035, we trust the robots with our home, our children and even our lives. Until one day our famous scientist, Dr. Alfred Lanning died in his office. Dr. Alfred Lanning is the one who created robots to help humans. No one know how he died, so the police taught that he was suicide. However, only Detective Spooner (Will Smith) that thinks the robot is the murderer. None of Detective Spooner's friends believe in him. Because everyone believe in the 3 laws that Dr. Alfred Lanning created for the robots and they all know that Detective Spooner hates robots very much and take the opportunity to blaim on the robots.
Actually long time ago Detective Spooner had an accident. In the accident Detective Spooner is trapped and at that time there was also one little girl trapped in another car. Suddenly there's a robot jumped in to that area and the robot only saved Detective Spooner. Because the robot was able to calculate who has the higher percentage to live and the robot save the one who is higher. Detective Spooner was angry and not only that. He suffer serious injuries that some parts of his body need to be change to become robots body. This is also one of the reason he hates robots but no one know that he has the strength of the robots. Dr. Alfred Lanning is the one who saved Detective Spooner's live that's why when he died he left message to him.
Finally, Detective found someone that wants to cooperate with him. Together with Dr. Alfred Lanning assistant, they start to find out what's going on.

Because of this interest, manufactures started to produce spring-powered guns that looked like the real. Indonesia is the one manufactures;distributors in this era. Firstly, we know that air soft gun are an electric weapon or gas powered air guns that fire small spherical plastic pellets of either 6 mm or 8 mm diameter (0.24 or 0.32 inches). Very cheap airsoft guns are normally underpowered and unsuitable for match play, but some indonesian and chinese manufacturers such as Jing Gong, A&K, Dboys,Lotec are now producing match quality like the real ones. In the world there are many types of weapons that used while playing air soft gun. There are AEP(Automatic Electric Pistols),GBB(Gas blow back),Electric Guns,Electric Rifles,etc. People in Indonesia especially Jakarta, very often play with Rifles Guns and GBB. Rifles Gun approximately 350-600 FPS. It is different with GBB. GBB only has 300-400FPS. The higher FPS that we have on our weapons is the higher injured that we can get while playing it. It's exciting to play it! Both man and woman can play this game. If we already play and make this games as our hobby, then we can go to air soft gun shops to buy any kinds of weapons that we like. IT and Wireless communication

IT or what is known as information technology is very widely known in all areas of life in today’s world. Information technology refers to the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information system. IT is very broad it covers all aspects of the management of computer-based information system, including the communications within it. There are a lot of ways to communicate based on IT some are by cable connection other can wireless. Wireless connection is the latest innovation in networking in information technology. Wireless communication enables connection to be held wirelessly even though the distance can be short or even long. The term wireless shows that connection is done without what is called as a hard wire, so it is done without any cable just through signals, this was first introduced in the 80’s with electromagnetic waves in a signaling system. Today wireless communication has developed so much till it is being used by everyone everywhere.
There are a lot of types of wireless communication from short distance wireless communication to long distance wireless communication. The short distance wireless communications consist of communications done within a range to a few hundred meters. The most common type of short range wireless communications is the infrared or what is known as the IrDA. IrDA or what is known as the infrared Data Association transfers data through light emitting diodes (LEDs) (What is IrDA?).Infrared is used by pointing the device straight to its receiver as infrared rays are unable to communicate through walls or any other thing disturbing the infrared ray it is sending and receiving. The infrared is suitable for HPCs, digital cameras, hand held data collection devices, etc. The infrared has a maximum bandwidth of 16Mega bytes and a maximum range of 1 meter. Unfortunately the infrared has got no security measures so data might not be transmitted safely. Another type of short range wireless communication that is widely used and has a greater range is Bluetooth. Bluetooth is an industrial specification for wireless personal area networks (PANs) (Bluetooth). Bluetooth is more flexible as it has a greater range and can pass through walls and does not have to be point to point with the receiver. Bluetooth transfers signal through radio frequency, this device is widely used in phones, laptops, Personal computers, digital cameras and video game consoles. Bluetooth itself is being innovated overtime as first the Bluetooth introduced was Bluetooth Version 1.2 which was able to have a transfer rate of 1 mega byte per second and Bluetooth Version 2.0 which enabled a lot faster data transfer which was to 3 mega byte per second. Bluetooth varies in range according to its type from less than a meter to 100 meters in range. Bluetooth is more secured compared to infrared as it has a security measure which is the device needs to be paired before using with a personal identification number so if anyone tries to hack this network it has a security measure to go through first, another type of security measure is authentication so before transferring data it requires authentication from the receiver. The most common and used short range wireless communication with best range and best data transfer is Wi-Fi. Wi-Fi is a wireless technology brand owned by Wi-Fi alliance. Wi-Fi is usually being able to connect with the help of a device named router, this device enables the routing process of the data in which the intended computer is connected. Wi-Fi are of great speed where the speed is different according to the types where in 802.11 the speed can be up to 2 mega bytes per second while in 802.11a it can be up to 54 mega bytes per second. Connection to a Wi-Fi connection or what is usually known as hot stop is more secured as the network in which it is connecting has a firewall of its own which prevents harmful data to be transmitted also before connecting to the network it usually requires an address to be stored to the network of the devices which are allowed to access the network so it is much more secured also password authentication are used. Common applications for Wi-Fi include Internet and VoIP phone access, gaming, and network connectivity for consumer electronics such as televisions, DVD players, and digital cameras.
As there is a demand to communicate wirelessly from different places rather than being in range, long distance communications are present to enable anyone to connect from anywhere. There are a lot of types of wireless Communication that has a large range one of them is a Cellular network, this is very well known as a lot of people are using this service. Cellular network is a radio network made up of a number of radio cells (or just cells) each served by a fixed transmitter, known as a cell site or base station. These cells are used to cover different areas in order to provide radio coverage over a wider area than the area of one cell (Cellular Network) most common example of a cellular network is a mobile phone (cell phone) network. A mobile phone is a portable telephone which receives or makes calls through a cell site (base station), or transmitting tower. Radio waves are used to transfer signals to and from the cell phone. There are a number of different digital cellular technologies, including: Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM), General Packet Radio Service (GPRS), Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA), Evolution-Data Optimized (EV-DO), Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution (EDGE) and 3GSM, Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT).The security in this type of communication is high as they need 2 keep the privacy of each user and all the call he makes all the text messages he sends so all the data is encrypted and a high security system is used. Another type of long distance wireless communication is the communications satellite it is an artificial satellite stationed in space for the purposes of telecommunications. The communication satellites provide a technology complementary to that of fiber optic submarine communication cables. They are also used for mobile applications such as communications to ships, vehicles, planes and hand-held terminals, and for TV and radio broadcasting, for which application of other technologies, such as cable, is impractical or impossible. Few important applications of the communication satellites are telephony service where Satellite phones connect directly to a constellation of geostationary or low earth orbit satellites. Calls are then forwarded to a teleport connected to the PSTN network or another satellite phone, it is a good thing as phone service will not be limited to network range like mobile phone as you can reach the satellite from anywhere. Another latest feature of the satellites are broadband as people tend to need faster Internet with satellite connection anyone from anywhere will be able to have a super quick Internet connection as it is direct connection but this is usually done by the internet service protocols as there is a fee required to use this service. Security in satellite communication is safe as all data sent is encrypted using a very high bit encryption.
Wireless communication is becoming better and better so is Information technology in a whole as people always try to improve from what they were to what they are just like information technology. Wireless communication as we just saw has developed so much in short distance as well as long distance. This enables the communication within a computer-based information system to be done perfectly as communication within it is an important part especially wireless as it offers greater speed and flexibility which people would prefer.

Do not Imitate Bill Gates!

There are many people who already know how great Bill Gates is. He was the founder of Microsoft Corporation, one of the biggest IT Company ever exist in the world. Bill Gates was also chosen as the richest man in the world for 13 times in a row. However, this year, his position was taken by Warren Buffet because Bill Gates has wasted lots of his shares in order to get Yahoo! His focus in the software world is inevitable. For the rest of his life, he’s only focusing in the software business and not even once should he look on other alternative businesses. Born on 28th October 1955, Bill Gates managed to build Microsoft from nothing into a giant company with the selling of the products almost reaching US$ 51,12 million in June 2007. That money is considered equal to 70% of our Nation’s Basic Budget (APBN) in this year. Through Microsoft Corporation, he could also hired more than 78 thousand employees that spread in almost 105 countries all around the world. Those are some reasons that make people admire what Bill Gates has achieved in his life. However, there is only one thing that he couldn’t have so far in his life and that will be a bachelor degree from Harvard University. He used to study in Harvard, but for some reason he decided to quit the college and chose to build his own business. However, 30 years later, he finally managed to get his degree and during his speech in front of the audience, he told other students not to imitate him for quitting the college. Nevertheless, studying in college is important for students to widen their knowledge about anything they need to know in this world and if you have graduated from college, make sure that you use wisely the chance to work in a company so that you will know how to build your own business.

Stop Bullying!

Fifi who just graduated from the second grade of Junior High School has ended her own life by committing suicide. She wrapped her own neck with TV cable and hung herself until she stopped breathing. It is difficult to understand why she was doing such a reckless thing and died in a very young age. However, later the Police found out that the main reason why she committed suicide was because her friends bullied her everyday by mocking her parents. Fifi was a child from poor family. Her father, Joko, worked as “Tukang Bubur”. It is very often that Fifi couldn’t pay her school’s tuition fee and that made her really depressed and chose to end her life. The violence that Fifi has suffered is not to be considered as physical violence, but many people didn’t realize that most people that committed suicide was suffered from mental violence. Fifi is just one among many other teenagers that couldn’t handle mental violence they got from school. Another case happened to Hendra Saputra, a Police Academy fresh graduate that has lost his dream to be a police man because he has suffered a serious physical damage from his seniors in the Police Academy in Semarang. This 21 years old youngster must be treated for approximately 4 months in the hospital. He said, “I was electrified by them. My hands were tied with a wet towel and they electrified me over and over!” Thanks to his seniors, he has got a serious injury on his head. Thus, his case was brought up in a trial, but unfortunately his seniors were proven not guilty for the case. They were free from any charges and the case has been closed by The Indonesian Court.

Beware! Kidnappers Are Around Us

Every parent must be sad or heart broken if they have lost their precious children. Their grieve will even become worst when they know that their children have been kidnapped or murdered by some criminals. Take an example of what has happened to the family of Sugeng Heriyanto from Yogyakarta that has lost Nabila, his 4 years old beloved daughter. That morning, Nabila was playing slide in her house backyard while Tuti, her mother, was dropping her other children to school. After dropping her kids, Tuti found out that Nabila wasn’t at home. She immediately looked after Nabila with her husband; however, they still couldn’t find where Nabila was on that day. Three days later, she received a bad news from the police that her precious daughter was found already death by the citizen of Brebah village in Sleman, Yogyakarta. Until now, the murderer and the motive of the killing are still remain in mystery. Another tragic story came from Depok, West Java. A little girl only 3.5 years old of age was kidnapped and asked to work as a street musician by the kidnappers. On that day, Melly was separated from her mother in a bus they took from Blok M going to their house. “I haven’t found my daughter for approximately six months now,” said Muhammad Melody Nur, Melly’s father. However, later Melly was finally found by her parents accidentally near the area of Bundaran Hotel Indonesia, Jakarta. It seems that on that day, Melly was told by her kidnappers to join him on a demonstration and she was caught in the camera of a TV reporter. Her parents immediately recognize her daughter’s face and took Melly home with them

Jugun Ianfu

Just imagine when a 13 years old teenager like Mardiyem was forced to serve and satisfy the sexual desire of an entire Japan army in Telawang, South Kalimantan. At the first time, this little girl who came from Yogyakarta was persuaded to go to Telawang to be a dancer. “But when I got there, I was told to serve the Japanese soldiers. In a day, I have to serve more than 10 Japanese soldiers.” She said. No wonder if Mardiyem was suffering both physically and mentally. She was even pregnant at the age of 15. By the Japanese, she was brought to a hospital and forced to kill the baby inside her stomach without proper treatment. The same faith was also experienced by Kartimah, this girl from Cimahi was also been forced to be a Jugun Ianfu, the sexual slave that serve Dai Nipon, the Japanese soldiers in 1942. At that time, Kartimah was kidnapped from her house and was put into a soldier camp with other victims. Mardiyem and Kartimah now have become very old. However, they along with other victims are still fighting to make the Japanese government to admit their sin in the past and pay for everything that they have done to all of the Jugun Ianfu in Indonesia and it seems that their work has almost paid of. As the matter of fact, it turns out that Jugun Ianfu was not only happened in Indonesia, but also in many other countries like China and South Korea. If these 3 countries can cooperate together, they can push The Japanese Government to apologize and thus the struggle of Mardiyem, Kartimah, and many other vitims were not in vain. Nevertheless, we as Indonesian must also support their fight by accepting those people who were used to be Jugun Ianfu as a part of our society. We can not let them to be isolated since they were the victim of The Japanese Government and not just some mere prostitutes.

Be Grateful of what you've got

Human beings are god's most noble creation because human beings has brains and a mind to think and has the abillity to know the difference between good and wrong.Human's are never satisfied with what they've got they always want more and more , some humans are never grateful with what they've got for example an unhandsome rich guy is ungrateful because he always blame god for creating his face like that and then he uses his money to plastic surgery his face , but what he should have done is see other people who is more unlucky than him that doesn't even have all body parts , for example the blind people , the deaf people and other people , even though he "thinks" he is not handsome but atleast he still has all body parts to do his daily activities..Thats why before we be ungrateful of what we got, we must see how lucky we are and see other people who are bellow us that have less than what we've got.

Nowadays, studying abroad become more popular than before. We can see a lot of students in every countries go overseas to check excellent universities that provide a good education, environment, facilities, etc. Students might choose what schools, study programs, or universities that they like best. firstly, we know that study abroad is the act of a student pursuing educational opportunities in a foreign country. Students may pursue these opportunities at any age and gender. One of the most common reasons students study abroad is language immersion. Most of students in the world want to know and learn more languages(English,Spanish,Indonesian,France,Germany, and more!). Many students study abroad in an effort to expand their opportunities beyond those their home university offers. Strategically, study abroad offers many exciting benefits from high school students hoping to get into a prestigious university, to college learners pursuing reputable post graduate schools or professions. It may lead to scholarships, grants, and job opportunities to leading institutions or employment in the future event. As a parents, we must to give our children opportunities to choose what kind of school that they like. We must not to judge them to study in a certain school or universities that we want. In this era globalization, study abroad is the best way for our children to reach a better education and jobs in the future. While studying abroad, students can get more friends and they also can communicate with people / students from other country.

Mayan propechy told us that earth will be destroyed in 2012. The Sumerian story told about planet Nibiru that will cause great disasters on all over the world. The minor planet will come back and disturbs our gravitation in the earth in 2012. Now, this planet is on the way to go into the universe. The next return is in 2012, it will causes many disasters and terors in our place according to the prediction. Japanese scientists named Patrick Lykawa and Tadashi Mukai from Kobe University has found a minor planet that has an orbit to the sun with an extreme line outside the universe, but they still not sure if the planet that they has found is Nibiru or not. Nevertheless, it is still a prediction, even this prediction sounds very bad for us, we can still pray and do the best to our home.

Green Forest

Forest is one of the things that very important to our world, it looks beautiful and also functional to protect our land from any kinds of disasters. However, many people make their fortune in timber industry and some of them also chop the trees to make new area for buildings and industrial places. In this era of modernization, the number of trees must be increase by reforestation and protect the trees that had existed around us. We also need this reforestation to support the global warming that has been a problem in nowadays. Many disasters happened around the world because people didn't care about the nature, and many animals are killed because they lost their home. Thus we have to save our nature by uses recycled merchandise, electric transportation, and especially decrease the number of production that uses our trees.

Population of Rare Animals

I love animal especially rare animal. Actually animal could maintain its life as long as the ecosystem is care well. However, people always hunt their prey which are beautiful and unique animals. They always hunt it, because it has high value compared with usual/ ordinary animals.

Therefore, those kind of animals not only fainted and abandoned its families but also become rare in this world. That's why animal can be rare even extinct in this world. The main factor is human being and the second is natural disaster. Based on the source that I qutoed, there are 2 options of the most rare animal in the world; first is Baiji and the second is The Pinta Island tortoise. I take the global one which is Baiji (Yangtze River Dolphin). It was become rare because of human being/ intentional human atitude. Electrocution from electric fishing, collisions with vessels, underwater blasting for channel maintenance, and illegal hunting of the baiji for its meat and for its body parts (used in traditional medicines) are at least partially responsible for the declines in baiji range and abundance. Many researchers also predict that Baiji will extinct in the future. The situation is not condusive anymore to help its population because it had take a long time since many years ago. To avoid these similar thing, better for us to take care not only rare animals but also mass population animals.

Handout Chp. 8

On the handout chapter 8, it contain about paraphrase and summary, this topic has been discussed by Mr. Charles in the Academic English class. First, paraphrase is some information that could be rewrite from outside source with our own words and with the same meaning. Second, summary is almost the same like paraphrase, but the words in the summary is shorter than the length of the original words. Although we had rewrite the information with our own words, we still have to content the sources of the info that we found from the internet, book, or printed media. I think this is the important topic to make an essay, it could be a functional part to avoid plagiarism in writing and we could also use this paraphrase or summary to support our writing material. As a result, the more sources you have could contain more supporting sentences and ideas.

My Campus

First of all, I chose to have a college in Binus International, because many people said that if we want to learn about computer technology in business, it is better to choose Binus International and enter the major of Information System. After I looked at the campus, I felt that the building looks modern and cool; the facilities are also complete for my learning activity. On the other hand, when I compared between the University of UPH (University of Pelita Harapan) and Binus International, I felt that Binus International is just the quarter size of the UPH. The UPH has a very big region in Lippo Karawaci, it has more facilities with big room capacity (library, canteen, classroom, etc.) and the environment is very clean. But I didn't felt disappointed about it, because whatever our college is, all we need to concern about are to earn better education to help our knowledge in the future and increase our socialization by making friends and communities. As we all know, Binus International is one of the universities that has a very expensive tuition fee, but I think if we spent our time more seriously by study in class, attend every class, and spent our time by learning and playing with our friends in the campus, thus we could feel that the money we had paid to Binus International was not wasted away. Right now, I felt that Binus International is the exact choice for me to continue my education and also determine my future career.

Life is a path of steps in which when you take the right one the next challenge arises where you need to select which one to take again. Life is full of challenges if you manage to take the right one you will be happy if not than you will face gloominess. Gloominess in someone’s life will result in the person having a negative point of view and once this has happened to the person in worst case it could result in the person being depressed or even committing suicide. As now we can see but if you take the exact right steps you will have a joyful life full of fun pleasure and exiting things to go through. This is quite unfair is it what life offers you?. One thing that matters is no matter what happens in life you should always try to be as positive as possible as taking the positive attitude is something that’s really hard but once you can take it the chances of proceeding life in a successful way is larger.

There are a lot of things that affects the gloominess or joyfulness in people’s life. Love firstly, Love is such a great feeling that is adored by a lot of people and if it is taken in a positive manner you will get the joyfulness but, if taking it in not such a good way it could result in the person being depressed. According to me love is pain as there is no love that wouldn’t result in getting hurt for example. When we are dating if we break up we tend to get hurt also when we are married if we get a divorce or the other person die's it tends to affect you in a bad way and hurt you so much. Love is pain as we just saw but people don’t usually care about the pain as when they are in love they tend to think all the pain is worth all the good times they have when they are in love.

Being in love is such a great feeling but not being in love isn’t such a great feeling but don’t worry 'every dog has its day'.

Who will be Indonesian Next President ? ?

A moment ago, the verification of politic party of Indonesia just officially opened. It signed that, the competition was open and the war just started. To be Indonesia President, a candidate must join into a politic party!! However, the main problem is not focused on how to establish a politic party, but it is focused on the legalization of the politic party itself. To be a legal party, we must complete of complex requirements. On the eve of the next Indonesian President Election, there are many politic parties that will compete to attract the sympathy from society. The society will have the chance to select the best leader for this country because the campaign was already open!! They blew up their missions and visions to the public!! By this, society could appraise which one is the best for them?? There are many names that was flag into the public like: SBY, Sutiyoso. Megawati, Jusuf Kalla would be superlative in the next election!! But, that was just prediction, while the truth can not be predict. Hopefully, Indonesia will be lead by a wise leader that could make this country be regarded in the World.

ITB Students won IT competition in France

Antarmuka Team consists of students from Bandung Institute of Technology, each one with their own personal competence, working together to build an excellent project. Arief is an informatics Engineering student who has a lot of experience in programming and software design. Dimas is an Informatics Engineering student with qualified mathematical background. Ella is an Informatics Engineering student who is concerned about the environment. And Erga is a Visual Communication Design student who has some experience in multimedia design for computer games. Butterfly is an easy-to-use system for reporting environmental problems right away, which is developed to be accessible by everyone in the world. Butterfly ensures that a complete report of the problem would be sent immediately to the organization that is responsible in handling the problem. For its easy access, Butterfly supports a wide range of input, including SMS, phone call, website, and a downloadable application based on Windows Mobile. When Butterfly receives a report, it will classify the problem and prioritize it according to its importance. Afterward, it will determine where to send the report according to the origin (location) and the category of the problem. When the report is received by the organization, which is responsible in handling the problem, the organization can also send another report to Butterfly about what they do to solve the problem. In addition, Butterfly also shows the information that it receives in a website. Therefore, the information would be available for everyone. Movie Review : Mamma Mia!

Producer Judy Craymer, writer Catherine Johnson and director Phyllida Lloyd join executive producers Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson, and Abba members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, to create a film that might feel a touch haphazard, but is hugely entertaining.Meryl Streep stars as Donna, an independent solo mother and owner of a small hotel on a Greek Island, who is coming to grips with her daughter Sophie's (Amanda Seyfried) impending marriage. With the wedding only a day away, she is reassured by the presence of her two best mates, Rosie (Julie Walters) and Tanya (Christine Baranski), from her one-time singing trio Donna and the Dynamos.Little does Donna know that Sophie, keen to discover who her father is, has found her mother's diary and invited three men to the wedding, each of which could possibly be her father _ Sam (Pierce Brosnan), Harry (Colin Firth) and Bill (Stellan Skarsgrd).Streep's enthusiasm for this role is infectious, and she sums up the spirit of the film when she does a hearty dive bomb off a jetty into the Mediterranean. There is no doubt the more mature actors in this film are fulfilling a dream by appearing in a musical, and while they have gone a little troppo with the excitement of it all, you'd have to be having a really bad day not to just get on board with them. Streep and Seyfried steal the show when it comes to the business end of the film, the singing. The boys make rather less of an impression, and Pierce Brosnan's singing is terrible, but his genuine enthusiasm for the role makes his vocals an amusing triumph. This film might embrace the inherent cheesy nature of the musical, but unlike the slick Hairspray or Dreamgirls it has a more relaxed approach to the performance of the songs. The choreography aims for laughs rather than to be visually stunning, and while it's obvious some work has gone into the singing, the dancing has been left more to general interpretation. Somehow this all helps add to the fun, relaxed and spontaneous attitude of the film.

Don't ya just love parking wardens

Parking wardens must be one of the most unpopular breeds in the world.Most people accept they have a job to do, and it's fair to say that our roads would be a lot more chaotic if they weren't around. The threat of a ticket is enough to persuade most people not to park illegally, or at least to do it for just a few minutes and then make their escape as fast as possible.However, it's difficult to be understanding when, having shelled out what seems like quite a lot for the right to park your car for a couple of hours to do some shopping, you turn the corner and see one standing by your car writing out a ticket - and you're only two minutes late getting back. For many people, reason and understanding seem to fly out the window, and parking wardens endure some pretty horrendous abuse, threats and even physical violence. Recently someone even used his car to ram a parking warden on a scooter.In some places, parking wardens are paid by a commission system, and are faced with tough targets - which just encourages them to ping people when they have the slightest opportunity.Matters have been made even worse for traffic wardens in London, where a couple of years ago a TV documentary revealed rampant corruption, with some traffic wardens accepting backhanders in return for turning a blind eye to blatantly illegal parking - and in one cases actually stealing motorcycles.Well, here's some good news for a change. In Scotland, a traffic warden by the name of James Dewar was told he was surplus to requirements, but was reinstated after a campaign to save him by local residents and motorists. He was apparently very popular with the locals, because as well as handing out tickets, he voluntarily took on other, perhaps more rewarding work - such as helping children get home safely after school, and assisting tourists.And not only did the campaign succeed, it looks like his duties may be expanded next year.It's not often that public campaigns save jobs, so all in all it was a pretty happy ending for Mr Dewar.

Movie I Want to Watch

When I first saw an add about a new movie that comming, I am so suprised because it was a movie about a super hero that almost identical to superman. It is a movie about superman like person but he was not loved by people in his town, because of his bad habit of drinking and destroying things that should have been saved. At first I just thought it was another superman like movie, but after I watch the preview of the movie on television, my mind changed. The story on the preview clearly show that after he met with a goverment man he changed into a real superhero. After that preview i said, “Good movie, I want to watch it right now!”. But in now, I have not watched it, but if you intrested the movie should be already showing in many cinemas.

My life in Binus International

My life in binus international university has changed in many ways , what i meant by changed is. It has change my lifestyle , my personality and etc.First I started as a freshman that has just graduated from Islamic Al-Azhar Pusat 1 highschool, I am the only freshman that came from that school which means i have to find newfriends by myself.I find it not so hard in making friends in binus because the people in there are very welcome and friendly , i have meet many different characteristics of people in binus , some are genuinely nice and some are just being mean and some pretend to be nice but behind our back they stab us in the back.My life in binus is pretty fun and enjoyable , even sometimes i enjoy it so much i forgot to study , but my friends in binus always help each other to achieve their goal to finish their study in 2011 ( 4 years of college years ).Binus support's their students creativy , i often play music in the campus and some other students do art , and if they can't do any of those things there are also other clubs such as fotography , movie's and a dance club and other fun clubs to join.i have never felt more secure and more safe in a study environtment as i study in binus.

People's Input to Us

Critizism,opinion and suggestions of other people about us sometimes give us a a positive effect and negative effect depends on how we react to the input that the other person gave to us.Someone for example critize us on how we dress but the way they say it hurts our feelings and we just react by hating that person , but if we look the positive side is that our friend just wants to help us be a better person and he is saying that the way i dress is just simply not suitable for me.People can be a better person if they would know whats best and whats not good for them , and suggestion's and opinion from other people about us could help us know us better and if we follow the right suggestions and ignore the one's thats just fool of rubbish , we could be a better person.

Ghost?!?!

Since I was born, I never saw a real ghost in my whole life, because I didn’t have the sixth sense that explained by Jesse. I really hate to talk about something mysterious, it’s better for me to talk about something useful and enjoyable. Sometimes if my friends told me about ghost story in the classroom or when we were having lunch, I always think about it once more when I was sleeping at night, it’s very creepy, I can’t move my feet and my body gets freezing. Leo is the one who always scared me about those kinds of story; I hate him when he told me that he saw something scary in the toilet or class room in Binus International. By the way, it’s time for me to stop my writing, I was kind a scared in my own room. If you're talking about ghost, I should probably leave.

Another Dimension

I believe what Jesse write about this, because I have seen some of the ghosts. Actually, every people can feel anything around their self, because we have the sixth sense. But there are some differences in the sixth sense, some friends of mine have different ability on this. First, there are some people who can see through the other dimension, but they can not do anything to the ghosts. Secondly, some people are able to communicate with the people in other dimension, they can see and talk each other. In my experience, people who are able to communicate with ghosts are strong in their religion. Finally, there are some side effect when we open our sixth sense, such as, we can know what people think, we can know their personality by looking at their hand, and many more. In conclusion, there are some types of sixth sense which are connected to the other dimension.

After reading Jesse's blog I was wondering how many of you believe in ghosts. Have any of you seen one? What about the kind of psychic ability that he talks about? It's a very interesting topic.

Different Dimensions In the World

Many people trust about spiritual world in the earth. Nevertheless, there are just some people that can see the other world or dimension in our place. Those people have the sixth sense to see the other world and the living spirits. Actually, every people have the sixth sense, some of them has opened their sense, but some has not. This sense can be opened by training. Im very interesting with the different dimension rooms in our world. My friends name is Jane, she can see through the other world. When she was walking in the field on the campus, she moved unormally, it was like there were many people walking on that field, but actually there was nobody there. She can see another dimension room. She told me that the living spirits also like humans, some of them can see us, but some of them cannot. In conclusion, we as humans have to appreciate them, even we cannot see them.

Handphone is become one of the most necessary to support people daily life. Actually, it's function just to simplify people connection. But, as the IT growth, it function has changed ino various functions. They use handphone not only to comunicate and connect to the other people but also to be personal device assistant!! Using the features that was ofter by many handphone brands all over the world. Recently, one of the biggest company in USA which is Apple launched their new product. They launched iPhone as their best product of Telecomunication devices. Apple put their targets to the entire markets that probably advantage to them. One of the best market target in Asia is Japan. As we know, Japan is the best technology country in Asia dominate over China. Almost people in Japan using various kind of technology, not excepted is use Handphone. We definitely astonished when heared that thousands people in Japan queue for around 70 hours just to purchase iPhone. They sacrificed their time and effort just because want to have iPhone as their personal Assistant. They said that iPhone has all, mean is iPhone has many features that absolutely suitable in Japan. Compare with the others sophisticated Handphone, iPhone sellers is not alike the others. From its first launched, it was already booming in all over the world especially in Japan.

Handout Chp. 7

On the handout for chapter 7, it explained about the comparison/contrast essays, these kinds of essays are mostly contained about two things that can be described, which are the similarities and differentiation. The comparison essay is more to similarities aspect, and the contrast essay is more to differentiation aspect between two things. Actually, it is easy to make this type of essays, but sometimes it is hard to find either of its similarities and differentiation between two items, because I think it is easier to find only one aspect (Similarities or differentiation) in making essays. On the other hand, I think this difficulty could be solved if I learn and evaluate more about the theories to make a good comparison/contrast essays.
