Final Project

I'm so stressed now. I've to finish my final project as soon as possible. My team is consist of me and Bayu. We choose personal information manager as our final project. Actually, we divided our task. My job is to make the Personal Data, while Bayu is to make the Tasks. So far, I've almost done my "Personal Data" about 80%. Unfortunately, there are two things that make my task is not completed yet. The first one is sort the data in alphabetic order. The next one is make the data easier to read. In my program, the information is always written to the right side. What I want is each data is written in one line.

Can anyone help me? pls.... :'( :'(

Well after thinking of it, it's 25th of december so it's time for santa to have a vacation until next year :) ( so it's the holiday for santa N'du :p ).

All i want for christmas...

Well did you all get the christmas present you want?? For me i got few that i want but not all. But i think it's great enough thinking the economic ressesion we have.
But still my phone still suck ( Just yesterday my phone went AWOL in a middle of a call ). I hope i can get a new phone ( you gave santa wrong present this year ). Hahaha but still the present is great :). Between all the ting i can put after the sentence I still think the best word for that sentence is You.

And a happy New Year.
Glad tidings we bring
To you and your kin;
Glad tidings for Christmas
And a happy New Year!

I WISH YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR.

Journey to Garut

Today I have just arrived at my home from Bandung. I spent three days for my vacation. At first, I didn't want to go; but, as I knew that Resa was going to go to Garut, I decided to go. I planned to visit his house in Garut, as it is not so far from Bandung.
I, with my family, departed in Monday morning. In the journey we found some difficulties, such as crowded road and lost of direction. We are not very familiar with the roads outside Jakarta, so we had to ask people about the place we wanted. We were confused when we encountered a very steep road. Not only steep, but it is also damaged; it has so many holes. Our car didn't have enough power to climb it. Then we decided to get off from the car so that it can go up. The result is, the car successfully arrived at the top of the road, but we were very exhausted because we had to walk. I was afraid that my grandfather couldn't make it. Somehow, we managed to survive that steep road. After passing it, we entered Kampung Sampireun to stay. The place is so nice and beautiful. We could see a mountain view and a beautiful lake in the center of the resort. In addition, the food was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating.
The next morning, we continued our travel to Garut, my friend's hometown (Resa). I think Garut is a small town, but the road is crowded and confusing. We found Resa's house easily since it is located exactly beside Yogya Supermarket (that is a coincidence: Resa's last name is Yogya!). After ringing the bell, Resa opened the door so that I could enter. Inside, I chat for a while with him. After a few minutes I left his house because my family wanted to continue the journey to Lembang. I was a bit dissapointed because I thought that I could stay longer.
There were not many things we did after that. We stayed in Lembang Asri Resort, went to Bandung to shop in Rumah Mode, then we went home. In my opinion, this vacation is enough for me to refresh my brain so that I can continue working on my project and homeworks.

Personal Journal : Christmas

Well my fav holiday is near. Christmas is near. It's time for celebration and gifts( one of my fav ). Just today binus inter is having it's christmas celenbration it's very nice. There's a christmas tree, band, food, and many more. But the one that surprises me is the Santa Claus, i like to see people who dress like santa because he is dressing as one of the image of christmas spirit. Well today i just knew that Santa is one of our classmates. Wew my jaw just dropped when i see him. Well i should have known because his posture is matching with santa and the tummy is the right size( the name of the guy who dressed as santa is not written here to protect the identity of our santa ).

Also i want to say to you all:
HAVE A JOLLY MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Bush Was Thrown Shoes During Press Conference in Iraq

US President, George W. Bush was thrown shoes during his press conference with prime minister of Iraq, Nouri Al Maliki, about the security agreement. The security agreement is about U.S troops that are going to leave Iraq earlier this year. After he had just finished his prepared remark, a journalist named Muthathar Al Zaidi, pulled his shoes off and threw them to Bush. He shouted, "This is a goodbye kiss, you dog."

After that incident, Zaidi and his shoes become popular. An Arabic man, bid Zaidi's shoes for US$ 10 millions. Zaidi also will get a bravery medal from Muammar Qadhafi's daughter. Muammar Qadhafi is the leader of Libya.

Magic or Trick? Who knows...

When I was participating in BILT at Lembah Nyiur, Puncak, We the participant were divided into groups and each group had to perform something. My group consist of peoples from BIBC and BIDC, me, Brian, Michael, Arfi and Sisi. We were performing a drama and saman dance. The other groups, which was BIFC and VOB group, consist of Ogie, Ivan, Abi, Irene and friends, were performing something unusual. They were performing a magic show like. Basically, four of them were lifting the volunteer just by using two fingers, it sounds too good to be true but it really happens. Before lifting, they perform some ritual; they spelled "Cingcangkeling maling kencing di piring". I myself thought that it was just a made up spell because it sounds like an Indonesian slang. After they spelled it, they performed another ritual which was they put one of their hands above the volunteer head one by one and must not touch each other, and then they put the other hand above the previous hands without touching also. Strangely, they can lift someone who has a big body such as Oky Saimima. After that, they asked us to try it also. Then Melcil, I, Ogie, and Abi tried to lift Aswin. First, we tried to lift him without any ritual and we couldn't lift him at all. Then we perform the ritual, which was silly I think, and strangely we could lift him and move him around 2 meters. Unbelievable...

I searched some information on the internet about such spell, but I found nothing. If any of you know about this kind of spell, please tell me.

Christmas Charity 2008

Christmas Charity is one of the event in Binus International to celebrate Christmas. This year,Christmas Charity will be held on JWC Lobby, from 17-18th December 2008 on lunch break. Each club in Binus takes part and a stand to make things crowded there.
BITE(Binus International Trading Enterprise) make a stand that sell foods and drinks which made in an interesting way.
BIMUS(Binus International Music Club) presents 5 bands to sing in front the stage, and my friend,Oky Dany plays guitar very cool to make a rhythym for Joker to sing,It's very good one.
BMDC(Binuc Modern DAnce Club) perform a Saman Dance on the stage. The dance is telling about Aceh and need a lot of teamwork in order to make it successful.
BISC(Binus International Student Commitee) make a Christmas Gram,a program that will send someone's card, chocolate,or Kitkat,to the one who they want to send it to.
BEST(Binus Internationa English Society) make a stand to play Brain Freeze(kind of game that will guess a thing in the box,but they must pay to guess the clue first, then guess it,If they guess it right, they will be given the thing inside) and also Christmas Crosswords.
Unfortunately,it is not too crowded like last year's Christmas Charity. But still it is fun!!and I enjoy it a lot.^^

Fun Fair

My friends from high school asked me if I wanted to go to Mahatma Gading’s fun fair (Mahatma Gading is the name of our high school). I agreed, so on Saturday I visited my old school. My first surprise when I got there was the entrance fee. At the time I attended the school we also had a fun fair and the admission ticket costs only Rp.2,000 but now it costs Rp.10,000. I was also surprised at how much less people came compared to the previous years. The fun fair itself was quite similar to that of the previous years; it included a variety of stalls selling different kinds of food, science and art exhibitions, simple games such as ring toss, haunted house etc. One new addition however was the flying fox, which was setup above the pool. In the middle of the courtyard there was a stage where modern dances and band performances took place. The Indonesian singer Afgan (who I wasn’t quite familiar with but who to other people seemed like a big deal) was scheduled to appear later on that day.

I must admit that I did not really enjoy the fun fair. It was really hot and the games were quite boring probably because I’ve already played them the years before and there was no new interesting food to try. The only bright side of the whole thing was that I got to hang out with my old high school friends who, despite my best efforts, I don’t see too often anymore. It also started to rain just before Afgan was scheduled to appear, so my friends and I left thinking that maybe he wasn’t worth waiting in the rain for. I don’t think I am going to go to the next fun fair, unless they decide to do a complete revamp of the event.

Final Project Confusion

Me and my group decided to make the personal information manager for our final project. I'm confused by reading the project description that we will gain additional points by implementing graphical interface to improve our project such as using OpenGL and DirectX. Anyone have an idea about this? I'm also confused to implement the calender, what should the interface looks like. If you have an idea about all of these please contact me. Thanks!

Book Review: You'll Die in Singapore

The author of this book is Charles McCormac, a war veteran from England. It contains a true story of himself as a prisoner of war in the World War 2.
The story started when Japanese attacked Singapore. Civillians, including Charles were being captive in Pasir Panjang Camp. They suffered hunger, thirst, and humiliated by the Japanese soldiers. Those Japanese soldiers often showed violence in front of the prisoners to show how serious they were. The conflict began when Charles and some of his friends managed to break out of the jail. They experienced a lot of difficulties in the escape. The route is from Pasir Panjang, Singapore, to Sumatera, Jawa, then Australia. Through straits, forests, swamps, and fields, the prisoners faced many threats. In certain moments, they were helped by the Indonesian natives and Dutch soldiers. Somehow they survived by arriving at Australia. Out of the seventeen prisoners, only two of them survived.
In my opinion, this book is worth to be read. The writer described the events and environments accurately, so we can easily imagine when we read the book. This book is not suitable for kids under age because the story has a lot of violences.

Final Project stuck??? no way!

my head has been thinking about the programming principle's final project since the beginning of December and because of it, sometimes I can't sleep. If I'm playing a game or doing something which make me happy, somehow i just remembered the project and suddenly I turned sad, like there's a heavy burden in my body. There are some problems about the project that causes me like this. First, the final project isn't easy. I don't really understand how to make the program. Second, the christmas holiday is coming in a week from now and my partner's house is far away from my house, so I'm thinking about a way to finish the work together in the holiday or I have to finish the project in one week. and the last one, in the last week, I've got that melty blood competition on thursday.... I can only do the work after the workshop. Maybe i'll do the work on Monday since we've got a long break.

but, aside from those problems, I still believe in my partner, I'm sure she'll help me to finish the project faster and I also have to study a bit about the codes that will useful for the pragram. And I also hope my other frieds will help me. So, Let's do The WoRK!!!

Hart's Wierd Game

Here is an English game I invented when I razing through my dictionary. Unscramble these words to English and Indonesian words OR English and English words. The English and Indonesian words OR English and English words have a connection. And here is the hint for the connection : "Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of all?"

GINAA ; IRA ; UMR ; AARJ ; IDA ; UMAL ; ADIM ; OMAK ; IDAV ; AEMS ; DARAR ; AEMHR ; ALTI ; LHOA ; ASH ; ETH ; REA ; DTIE ; ELE ; DAARR ; ALG ; ART ; EREL ; ELG ; ARM ; IMD ; OMB ; ENT ; IPN ; UBN ; APR ; ATP ; OPT ; ALIR ; AILD ; AWR ; ERED ; AYP ; AMY

Well, because there are too many three-letter words, I guess this will be easy. Good luck then. b^^d

I Need Holiday !

I'm really tired this week. I have a lot of assignments and also activities. For the assignment, I have to finish the survey and presentation for introduction to IT. The problem is I don't have enough time to sleep. As a result, I get flu and cough. I have eaten some medicines, but I don't think my body is getting better. I should take some rest and have enough sleep during weekdays.

Actually today, I have to perform on Acoustic Jam Session (AJS). Unfortunately, I haven't prepared anything yet because of the assignments and other activities such as futsal and soccer. I think, I won't perform today. I'm not ready yet.

Oh Binus, please give me holidays. Of course without any assignment. On Christmas and New Year Holiday, I already have two assignments from programming principle and make a summary from book that have relationship with technology for introduction to IT. Can I face all of these? Well, let's see..

Busy Week?

This week, aside from Monday is very hard for me. First, I have to wake up early and go to Binus to finish the Programming Principles project with my friend Christian and Hartanto. On the lunch time, I have to attend CIC fellowship. After the class is over, I have to do the survey. After I got back to my boarding house, I counted the survey. After finished, I realized that I ran out of some things, from mineral water to bathing soap. Not only that, I also had to find the "materai" for IM2 form registration. So I went to Multiplus and they said that the "materai" is sold out. I went to the other shops, but it also sold out. I gave up, and I went to Senayan City to stock some things. It's already 8 o'clock when I got back; I took a bath, browsed the internet and went to sleep.

On the next day, which is today, I also woke up earlier even though I was a bit overslept. On the lunchtime, my friends and I continued to finish the project. Without realizing it, the class was begun soon. It was 3 hours Programming Principles class, I felt damn sleepy at that time. Fortunately, the class ended earlier, but I still have to finish the survey presentation. I've just finished the presentation and began writing this blog actually.

Another work will have to come after me. Tomorrow is Thursday, which means I have 4 hours Academic English class + 1 hour English Workshop. I don't think it's a good idea to have such schedule. Five same subject in a day? Give me a break… The class will be finished at 2 P.M, and I'll have to make another presentation for Intro to IT subject. At 5 P.M, I'll also have the basketball practice until around 11 P.M. Moreover, I’ll have to participate the BILT from this Friday until Sunday. I bet I'll sleepless and restless until that time.

I hope that Mr. Peter Aripin won't give a quiz on Monday... I won't have enough time to study if that happens...

English Debate Workshop, 6 December 2008

Today I attended the English debate workshop which was brought by Miss Anna Manurung. It should be started in 9 am and finished in 3 am. In fact, we actually started at 9.30 because Miss Anna woke up late (she admitted it). The attendats were surprisingly few, just around 10 people. From 01pbc, only I and Steven were present. Besides us, there were Aldo, Salman, Lesli, Joshua, Henri, and the girls whose name I forgot.
In this workshop we learned about the rules and techniques in 3 on 3 debate. There are so many rules that I can't remember them all. After explained, we had a practice of debating with the topic "Men are fairer sex". We were divided into two groups; one group consist of boys, while another group consist of girls. Before that, we got the chance to watch first speaker demo(affinitive and negative) by Steven and Henri. At that time I realized that debating is so difficult. At the end of the workshop, Miss Anna told us that there will be 3 on 3 debates between classes. The class which wins the debate will get additional score of 5 for Academic English course. At 12.00 the workshop ended; it should be at 3.00, but the debaters had to do something important.
Honestly, there are things that I don't understand: what is fairer sex? why do people tap the table in debating? what is "shame, shame" / "hear, hear" ? Why is Miss Anna called "Bong" ?

Boring week

This week I feel really really super boring. You know why?? BECAUSE MY LAPTOP IS BEING REPAIRED!!! My laptop's screen is broken. So, I pass this one week without doing "programming" on my laptop. It really feels like in hell. To me, "programming" is very essential in my life. One day without doing "programming", I feel like something is missing in my life. Fortunately, I have a desktop in my home. So I could still do "programming" at home.

On Wednesday, there is a programming principles lesson. At first, I really don't have intention to attend programming principles lesson because my laptop is still being repaired. But thanks to one of my classmates, Henry. He brought 2 laptop and he let me borrow 1 of his laptop. Because of that, on Wednesday I can followed the programming principles lesson with ease. I hope this Friday my laptop is already repaired, so on Tuesday I can bring laptop again to Binus and do some "programming" again with the others.

7 Ways to Learn More Without More Study

"How would you like to learn more without having to study more?"
Here's the article: http://www.usnews.com/blogs/on-parenting/2008/9/2/7-ways-to-learn-more-without-more-study.html

English Games

I found out these websites provides english games, some of them includes palindrome (yes! the programming principle exams), annagram and E.T.C

for the learnenglish.co.uk i missed some plug in because of my harddrive crashed. I think it will use flash as the media of games, while the oxford one will only be a text based game, it's difficult though!

Data Safety measures

Today i faced a major problem regarding data. My harddrives crashed and left me out with a laptop that can't even go to windows, it always shows that it can't load operating system. It become a stressful day even in the morning. I ended up formatting my hard drives in the campus and i lose many valuable datas, even the essay that i'm supposed to hand in tommorrow is gone (i rewrite it all over).

I was told by my friends that in order to protect your data in case something happen, you should create a regular backup for the data, yes i did have it on CD and flashdisk and apparently i lost both (if anybody had seen it, please tell me A.S.A.P, kingston 8GB, black), so it's a dead end for me. The other way is to have two partitions on your hard drives, one for Operating System and one for all your data. In case that your operating system crashed you could just format the harddrive that contains the operating system, and the data can be retrieved safely from the other partitions. Better safe than sorry guys! from now on create backup regularly (yes i'm lazy also) and move your data away from the hard drives that contains the operating system. It really pissed me off that i lose some very important data.

One of My Worst Day!!!

Today I really have no spirit in my life!!I hate today because today is the worst day in the entire life in Binus!!After having an average score for the mid exam,i receive an ultra special packet from both Charles(Lim and Schuster)!!Yes!!Very bad marks (probably the lowest score) for both subject Academic English(really the lowest one) and Programming Principles.I got really shocked until I can't heard and understand any words that is explained by Charles Lim.After that,I drink a cup of Starbucks's Java Chip to make myself cool down.In the Evening,Steven Acong Nyongz ask about my score in Academic English, then I open the accessbi, and the result is......the lowest score from Charles Schuster in my the class.I believe, today is really nightmare for me and the worst day for me.Please,God....Forgive my Sins!!

Computer Journal : Blue Screen Of Death

Does any one know what is BSOD or Blue Screen of Death? The Blue Screen of Death (also known as a stop errorBSODbluescreen, or Blue Screen of Doom) is an error displayed by some , most notably Microsoft Windows, after encountering a critical system error which can cause the system to shut down, to prevent damage. Any one had ever experience this? I've got it once! The story begins when I wanted to add more RAM for my laptop, I go to Mangga Dua Mall and decided to add the RAM. Firstly, my laptop works well as usual. But after 5 days later, BSOD appear on my screen and crash the windows. I decided to browse on the internet to find the way to recover the problem. Many people said that BSOD happen because of my new RAM doesn't suits the laptop. Actually there are a lot type of DDR2 RAM according to their hertz. But I don't know which type is suitable for my laptop and the seller give me the DDR2 676. After checking in the box of my laptop, I found that my laptop is suitable with DDR2 800 and it will not balance if one of the RAM is smaller in size, so the blue screen appears. So, be prepare and careful in choosing your hardware !

the whitest boy alive.

Last Saturday i went to this event called Beatfest. The show was helt at Bengkel night park in SCBD, near Pasific Place. They invited this indie artist called The Whitest Boy Alive, witch i like. Other than Whitest Boy Alive, they also invite a famous DJ by the name of Steve Aoki. There are also some local DJ's and local band play in beatfest.
Well, to tell you the truth, i was late. The show starts at 7 pm, and i arrive at about 10.30. I miss 2 bands, and the first 15 minutes of whitest boy alive. It kinda pissed me off that i arrive late, because i wanted to watch whitest boy alive from the beginning. Although, i didn't miss all my favorite song and that is the good news. I was late because, i have to pick up my friend who was really taking a long time picking the right clothes to wear and also i took a wrong turn in the middle of a traffic jam that forces me to expireance the same traffic twice.
But, it turns out that Steve Aoki was really great. He got this fire works and cool lightings to support him. Eventhough his genre of songs, witch is electronic, wasn't my ideal type of music. Steve Aoki mix it in such a way that it really makes me wanna dance ! And the only thing i regret is i got out early at about 2.30 am, the show was suppose to end at 4 am, because i promise my friend's parents that i would get her back by 1.30 am. So, it was really to bad for those of you who didn't come.
And another thing that i feel important to add is, the girls. The girls was really great. Most of them, wear either short skirts or a dress with a short skirt. And most of them was really good looking. So, it was really to bad for you who didn't come, especially the guys.

English Games

I found a lot of English Games on the internet. All you have to do is just search "english game" in Mr. Google. Here is some of the links :
  1. http://www.english-online.org.uk/games/gamezone2.htm
  2. http://www.learnenglish.de/gamespage.htm
  3. http://www.englishclub.com/esl-games/index.htm
  4. http://www.manythings.org/vocabulary/
In my opinion, one of the most interesting game is Battleship from http://www.learnenglish.de/gamespage.htm . The objective is to destroy the enemy's battleship. You have to guess two things. First is the place of the enemy's ship. The second one is find the correct answer. If your answer were not correct, the enemy's ship can't be attacked.

My New Record !!

Today, I'm happy and also a little bit angry because of my two new records. The first record is I got a perfect score on one of my mid exam. This is my first score that got 100 since I've been studying in Binus University. I hope I can study more seriously and get better score on the other exams.

My second record is I took 2 hours to go home because of the traffic jam. Usually, It only takes about an hour from Binus to my house. I don't know what exactly happened to Jakarta today. Even though today rained a lot, but there weren't flood anywhere. Last Friday, it only took one and half hour to go home although there were flood in some places. I hope tomorrow the traffic jam won't be as bad as today.
