Last Saturday I went to the 21 Cineplex to watch Hellboy 2 The Golden Army which was directed by Guillermo del Toro casted Ron Perlman as Hellboy, Selma Blair as Liz Sherman, Doug Jones as Abe Sapien, Luke Goss as Prince Nuada "Silverlance, and Anna Walton as Princess Nuala.When Hellboy was in his youth, his father, Professor Trevor Bruttenholm told him a story about the 'Golden Army' of 4900 soldiers or "70 times 70 soldiers" which was made by a mechanic for the Nuala Kingdom and it's a true story in the ancient time. Anyone who had the three pieces of the golden crown will able to control all the 4900 golden soldiers. The story begins at a leasing place where one piece of the golden crown was leased for people to buy, when suddenly Prince Nuala and his beast partner came and took that piece of golden crown. He was insisting to take revenge to the humans who had broken the agreements that had already signed in the past between humans and goblins because the humans had already broke their agreements. Prince Nuala wanted to wake the unstoppable Golden Army up to fulfill his revenge. The other two pieces of the golden crown was hold by his father King Nuala and his sister Princess Nuala, his father doesn't want to give the piece of golden crown to his son to avoid him waking up the golden soldiers which were undefeatable and very dangerous. Forcefully, Prince Nuala took the one piece of the golden crown from his father by killing him. So he now had two parts and one more part was hold by Princess Nuala who had the same idea as her father. In order to stop Prince Nuala's plan to take revenge, a secret organization from the humans which includes Hellboy, Liz Sherman, and Abe Sapien try to avoid the revenge of Prince Nuala. They had an extraordinary power that's above human's range. With the help of the other members of the organization, Hellboy got Princess Nuala to his side and work together as a team to stop his brother. Battle happens every time when these humans and goblins met each other, after someday Prince Nuala kidnapped his sister in order to exchange for the last piece of the golden crown which is hold by the secret organization. Abe Sapien, was one of the members of the organization who fall in love with Princess Nuala. He also found the last piece of the golden crown that is hid by Princess Nuala between the books in the library. When a day came that they're going to rescue Princess Nuala, Hellboy and the other team doesn't know that his friend Abe already had the golden piece. Abe insist to exchange the golden piece for Princess Nuala ,his love, which will cause the Golden Army to rise. And that time happen when all the Golden Army was waken up by Prince Nuala. But that moment wasn't going for a long time. Hellboy challenges Prince Nuala for a duel but not to use the Golden Army. As a result, Princess Nuala stabbed herself with a knife which also killed Prince Nuala because they're twins and they're connected to each other. The plan of revenge was stopped and both Prince and Princess Nuala died. This movie was also end with a happy ending. Liz, Hellboy's girlfriend was pregnant and Hellboy will be a father ^^.

I like the movie. I think the story is a little bit poor but i like the fantasy theme. The actions on the film is great for me that i overlooked the story. so it think this is the film for persons who like actions and a no for a person who like story.

Since I wanted to see the film I didn't read your review until after seeing it. You did a good job of summarizing the story. I was very impressed with the amazing visual effects. The monsters, the troll market and even details like the crown were done with lots of imagination. The same director did "Pan's Labyrinth" which was also a visual treat. Del Toro is a very talented director, in my opinion.
