India Movie Review

Last week I watched a movie during Academy English time on Wednesday. I watched this movie with the other classes, not only with my class. The movie name is Slumdog Millionaire, it is set in India. The main story is about a man who participates in who wants to be a millionaire show. The man’s name is Jamal Malik. He is an uneducated person. Luckily, he get a chance to join who wants to be a millionaire. The movie starts with Jamal in the police station being interrogated. He is accused for cheating, because he is the first person to reach the final question for the who wants to be a millionaire show. The police accused him for cheating because they don’t believe an uneducated person like Jamal can answer all of the question until the last question. That is the beginning of the movie. The rest of the movie was about he was being interrogated by the police about how Jamal can reach until the final question, even though he is an uneducated person. Then Jamal explained why he can answer the question by retelling the story about his childhood. Luckily, all of the question from the show is written in his childhood experience. And then he got freed by the police and continues to participates in the show. At the end, Jamal can answer until the final question and won the grand prize which is 10.000.000 rupee.
I think this movie themes are about love and fate. The story tells you of how cruel the world can be, but at the end there will be a hope. The story is about someone who never give up in his life, even though he face many problems. And with the help of his luckyness, he overcome his harsh life to a new good life.
The moral that can I take from the movie is if you are a man, you can’t give up until your life has ended. Which means you must struggle to life even it is very hard. Because after darkness there will be light. After hardwork there will be a good result. I think the moral that I can take from the movie is only that. Because the rest of the story is kind of bullshit. Because how come there is a coincidence that happen so smoothly. Especially in answering the who wants to be a millionaire question, that the question is related to your childhood. If it is really happen in real life, then you just only need to do a little work and leave the rest to luck. But overall, it is a good movie among other India movie that I know.
