Slumdog Millionaire : Moral view

Since everyone has already reviewed the story, I think I'll give the moral about the film and my opinion about it.

From what I've watched, this film tells us not to give up and work hard to achieve the turning point in your life, from slumdog into a millionaire. We don't need to be genius to be success; all we need is experience in life and hard work. In order to survive in the harsh social environment, we must not give up and work hard. Jamal and Salim however, do some dirty works to survive, but we shouldn't follow it. What we should follow is their determination to live and not giving up their live easily.

Next, we need to be earnest. See Salim do dirty works in the rest of his life, in the end he regretted what he has done and died sacrificing himself to free Latika. On the other hand, Jamal becomes a millionaire and he can be together with his lover. Moreover, when he was interrogated by the police he answer honestly, proves that he didn’t cheat and the police understand him and let him go. Finally Jamal can continue the "who wants to be a millionaire" quiz and win.

Friendship issues can be found almost in all scenes. We can see great bonds between Jamal and Salim, how they help each other and their relationship breakdown because of human greed in this movie. There are many conflicts between these two, but in the end Salim knows that he was wrong and he gives everything he could do to save his friend, Jamal and Latika. Even though their relationship clashed, Jamal and Salim still have faith in each other. We can see that Jamal tried to call Salim to help answering the last question, and Salim gives his life to realize Jamal’s hope.

Another thing that I learnt from this movie is that we shouldn't trust stranger too much. See how Jamal and Malik are taken and cared by Maman at first, but actually he wants to make them as his slave. Also when the presenter trying to crush Jamal's hope by giving the wrong answer, Jamal doesn't trust him and then he use fifty: fifty and choose the opposing answer. His strategy was right and he wins. We could learn a thing or two from this.

In my opinion, this movie has interesting plot about the slice of life and we can learn many things from it. This movie focused more on the serious part and only has few humor parts; therefore it may be boring for some us who doesn’t like serious theme. The last thing that is not forgotten, Indian movies usually has crowdie dance part in it, and this part can be seen on the credits. Overall, this is a good movie if we see it from the moral part.
